The Long Sleeved Trailhead Shirt by Mountain Hardwear is specifically designed just for hiking and trekking.  Built with the word technical in mind, the Trailhead is made with a quick drying, wicking material that pulls moisture away from your skin and then dries super quick keeping you from getting cold, which can happen even when its warm out.  Flip up the sun protection collar that works great for desert hikes or anytime you are in direct sun. 

An inverted mesh pleat is placed under the arm to provide better ventilation and with a UPF of 25 you get total protection from the sun while also preventing skin cancer.  The Trailhead's seams are also rotated away from pressure points for awesome comfort under any type of pack you carry.
