The Hammerhead 2 Tent by Mountain Hardwear is their best selling 2 person camping tent for warm weather. The Hammerhead is a free-standing tent with a convertible roof panel that opens to reveal the stars, and two huge vestibules for storage. Mesh windows roll back for additional venting. Three Atlas 7001 poles hold it all together.
Guaranteed watertight construction with a fully taped fly, taped perimeter seam, welded corners and welded guy clip anchors, and they can ensure its waterproof due to their 24 hours of testing in MHW's rain room using 1200” of rain. The Atlas 7001 pole system is strong, lightweight, durable, resistant to corrosion and dents, and is easy to service by hand in the field. The Hammerhead also has superlight buckles and webbing to help reduce the tent weight, and for awesome convenience there are reflective guy-out loops, starter points and zipper pulls for easy set-up at night.
There is a large mesh area for maximum ventilation when needed, but can also be covered with a zippered roll-back sky panel for protection and privacy. A high ceiling for extra head room, and two large canopy doors with dual slider zippers are available for easy entry.

I used the tent a few times just camping at lakes and pretty much car camping and it did great in rain. I took it on my first backpacking trip (2-night) last weekend when I hiked Cloud Peak in the Bighorns of Wyoming. It preformed great even though we were above 10,000 feet and pretty exposed. There was heavy fog, high winds, some pouring rain, nighttime temps in the 40s and horrendous mosquitoes, but in the tent everything was warm and comfortable. Me and my friend, both average stature for a guy, slept in there pretty comfortably. I was amazed at how warm it stayed in there.

I have taken the Hammerhead 2 from the Australian Outback, to the T Wall , to Bonnaroo and it has preformed very well in all conditions. The roll back vent is very useful for star gazing or airing out the stench of a smelly tent mate. I would recommend this to any first time tent buyer who is looking for a very dynamic warm weather tent.
