Comments about Montrail Mountain Masochist Running Shoe (Women's):
I used to be a hardcore Montrail user (long live the HardRocks!), but drifted away once those were phased out. The MM was my first shoe back with them. While they don't have as much motion control as the HR, it still does a good job with stability. I really wanted to like them more... but my foot seems to be at a point where I'm inbetween sizes - I really needed a 9 1/4. With my SuperFeet, the 9.5's were close, but my foot sat up a bit too high in the shoe, and the 9's (w/o insole) were just a bit too snug.
The Mountain Masochists are a great shoe and worth a try on next time you're looking for a new pair. I hope they'll be a fit more me again in the future!

Comments about Montrail Mountain Masochist Running Shoe (Women's):
I love this shoe on the mixed terrain trails we have here in Chattanooga. The aggressive tread keeps you from sliding around on downhills and helps give you traction on the uphill climbs.

Comments about Montrail Mountain Masochist Running Shoe (Women's):
I haven't worn Montrails since they did away with their "sock"-like shoe, but I'm glad I gave these Masochists a try. They feel super light weight and comfy but the tread/traction is great for rocky and technical terrain as well as dirt trails. They feel good on my feet mile after mile, protecting me from rock bruises and general foot soreness and I'm happy to report no rub spots/blisters. I've probably put 150 miles on them and they look brand new (top and bottom). When these wear out, I'll definitely get another pair!

Comments about Montrail Mountain Masochist Running Shoe (Women's):
Was looking for a comfy, supportive shoe to help me through knee surgery recovery and P.T. I've loved Montrail shoes in the past but have found the appearance growing a bit boring with the last couple pairs. The Women's Mountain Masochist shoe changes everything! I'm now back to loving Montrail for this shoe design and color (I've had so many comments about how great they look!), not to mention the stability, traction and support I've come to appreciate from Montrail. Although I'm not up to trail running at this time, these shoes have already taken me far in my recovery! I normally take 9-1/2 but ordered a half size bigger to accommodate cushier socks. Still waiting for Montrail to make a quick release shoelace slide - that would make me their happiest customer!
