Rock/Creekers are running in Merrell Barefoot shoes. Are you?
"When the Merrell Trail Glove and Merrell Pace Glove first arrived, we looked forward to hearing first impressions from trail runners. As we’ve sold them, we’ve asked for feedback; now that we’ve heard from our runners, that feedback is sounding really positive, across the board..."
"How does Merrell combine the feeling of being barefoot with the relevant amount of underfoot protection required to prevent stone bruising? They’ve gone with a low profile Vibram sole — just 4mm thick! — which includes a flexible, shock-absorbing plate in the forefoot. The result is thin enough to let you feel the trail beneath your feet, but distributes pressure and protects the foot as you plant, without sacrificing flexibility or exposing your feet to injury..."

"Two of the hottest new trail running shoes on the market, the Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove/Pace Glove and Salomon XR Crossmax, have received “best debut” honors in a Runner’s World review of trail runners. Here at Rock/Creek, we are pretty passionate about trail running, and both shoes are among the lineup of trail running shoes we’re carrying for this season...."

Comments about Merrell Barefoot Run Pace Glove (Women's):
I wear these shoes for kayaking because they're low-profile, lightweight, and breathe well. They're very, very comfortable, with a great fit and wide toe box. The only things that could improve are better traction and draining water. That said, I would definitely buy another pair, and I get compliments on them all the time.

Comments about Merrell Barefoot Run Pace Glove (Women's):
They feel like walking barefoot only better. Based on other reviews, I ordered a larger size and it seems too large. However, the smaller size might have been too small, so I kept them and will wear socks to make them snugger. I bought these specifically for walking, but they feel so great I'm sure I'll be wearing them much of the time.

Comments about Merrell Barefoot Run Pace Glove (Women's):
After reading all the reviews of barefooting and the countless claims of healing and strengthening as a result of minimalist shoe training, I decided to give in to the trend. A year ago in 4/10, I wrecked my ankle in a climbing fall, which left me timid to go all out again on the trails. I have worked up some mileage again with a cushioned shoe and felt confident to take my training to the next level. While out on the roads with my Merrell Pace Gloves on day one, I could feel the pull and stretch of my achilles and arch working. I was never to the point of pain where I needed to stop and "walk it out", but I definitely could feel the workout. I liked how connected I felt to the ground and I simply let my stride fall where it felt natural and comfortable.
I also paired my shoes with a thin, trail running merino sock to prevent rubbing. IF the bone on the top of your foot is raised a little, there may be potential for the lace system to rub on the top. That's my only observation of a con.
In closing, the hang tags on the Merrell Barefoot shoe suggests finding your personal stride and your pace... I think that is EXACTLY what a responsible barefooter needs to do. Based on how I feel today, writing this review, I believe if I go at my own pace, work up the strength and mileage slowly, I will see the positive results that everyone is raving about.

Comments about Merrell Barefoot Run Pace Glove (Women's):
I love my new Merrell Barefoot Pace Gloves! I've only taken them out on the trail a handful of times but so far the performance is great. I feel like my feet are still protected without compromising the lightweight barefoot feel.
