I have gore tex rain gear but as far as waterproof footwear I only had hunting boots. The boots are big, clumsy and hot on the front of a bass boat trying to control an electric motor in 4 to 5 foot waves. So I got these and used them to fish Erie in the monsoons that we had in Ohio. The shoes kept my feet bone dry the whole week, even in camp where we were wading through puddles. The only problem I had with them was the top of the shoe would rub a blister on the lower part of my ankle in just a few minutes if I did not were full length socks.
