The Rock/Creek guide to Marmot rain jackets
"I’ll be the first to admit it: it can be a bit confusing to shop for rain jackets. It seems every manufacturer has their own proprietary waterproofing technology, a couple of trademarked names, and there must be hundreds of different rain jackets on the market! Since Marmot makes our best-selling line of rain jackets, let’s start by focusing there… but things are still a little tricky..."
What's in your pack? Backpacking gear list 3: backpacking for beginners
"For first-time backpackers, the idea can be a bit daunting. After all, hiking long hours with a heavy pack, sleeping in primitive camp sites with no facilities whatsoever, and relying only on the equipment you can carry at one time are things that you don’t really do in your everyday life! A little bit of planning can make it a lot easier to take that first big step, so we’ve prepared this gear list with your first backpacking trip in mind..."
What’s in MY pack? Backpacking gear lists from a Great Smoky Mountains overnighter
"Ever since we published a series of backpacking gear lists this spring (an ultralight backpacking gear list, a traditional backpacking gear list and a beginner’s backpacking gear list) several blog readers have contacted me to ask which of those items I personally carry. After all, it’s one thing to compile lists of suggested backpacking gear, and another thing entirely to disclose exactly what I take on the trail. Well, what better way to follow up those gear lists, and answer that question, than with another gear list?"

Comments about Marmot PreCip Jacket (Women's):
This is my second jacket. My first one finally lost the waterproof layer after years of use, travel and a couple of re-waterproofings. It hung by the door six months out of the year. The lightweight styling and fit are second to none out there. I look forward to years of fishing, hiking, biking, dog-walking and running chores with this new one.

Comments about Marmot PreCip Jacket (Women's):
Purchased this for a recent trip to SE Alaska. It kept us out enjoying the scenery on hikes, kayaking, whale watching, and more through the wet weather. Kept me dry and helped block wind for hours at a time. Easy to move in too! Very lightweight and packable. Pit zips were great to keep cool but dry. Would recommend as a waterproof shell!

Purchased this for a trip to Montana and Idaho. It drizzled often, and was very cold at night. I was happy to have such a light weight, waterproof layer.

Comments about PreCip Jacket (Women's):
I bought this because my old OLD raincoat was falling apart and not keeping out the rain. This is great! I really enjoy the adjusters on the hood! It's very light so definitely not designed to keep you warm but you can definitely throw on a fleece layer underneath if need be. I also love the obnoxious day-glo green color I got. Even brighter in person :D

Comments about PreCip Jacket (Women's):
This is a great jacket for summer rain hiking. It will keep you dry, but there is no warmth. I will be trying it over layers soon. Great features to keep stickiness at bay. Cuffs, pockets all aid dryness experience. This color is also summery.
