The Rock/Creek guide to Marmot rain jackets
"I’ll be the first to admit it: it can be a bit confusing to shop for rain jackets. It seems every manufacturer has their own proprietary waterproofing technology, a couple of trademarked names, and there must be hundreds of different rain jackets on the market! Since Marmot makes our best-selling line of rain jackets, let’s start by focusing there… but things are still a little tricky..."

Comments about Marmot Nano Jacket (Men's):
Perfect for summer rain. More fitted than similar Gore-Tex jackets, but the more tailored fit looks nice. Still roomy enough to put on another layer for cooler weather. Buy a size up to fit a fleece under it for the perfect winter jacket. Chest pockets have air vents; much more attractive than pit zips. A lot more packable than my Mammut Gore-Tex Paclite. Tiny reflective logos are surprisingly *super* powerful. Great price for this level coat.

Comments about Marmot Nano Jacket (Men's):
If you want a light-wt but high performance shell that is packable, breathable, and waterproof, this is the one. It has no insulation but as an outer layer with a fleece or light-wt down underneath it is perfect to break the wind, snow & rain. Been using it this winter in 20-30's temps with wind. The moldable brim with adjustable hood is a nice touch. After about 1 month of use, the only down side so far is the zipper - the zipper tug is small so you can't use it with gloves and the zipper doesn't go up and down using one hand - you need both. BTW Rock Creek had a fabulous deal!!
