The 8.5mm Genesis Rope by Mammut is a double rope designed to be used with another 8.5mm rope for alpine routes, multi-pitch routes or climbs that have severe roofs.  Mammut is one of the best rope makers in the market and proves it with their low diameter, but high proportion of sheath making this rope extremely durable, and incredible abrasion resistant.

With the Superdry finish, the Genesis stays dry during wet or snowy weather and also provides you with less rope drag, because they absorb less dirt and moisture.  The Genesis rope is especially easy to handle and it maintains the level of performance longer than most other 8.5mm ropes.

Features

  • Treated with Mammut's SuperDry treatment in which they treate both the sheath and core of the rope.
  • All Mammut ropes feature an enhanced sheath proportion of up to 49%
  • Mammut welds both ends of all their ropes with an ultra sonic process which eliminates any sheath slippage.

Comments about Mammut 8.5 mm Genesis Double Rope:

I searched around for the best price and Rock Creek was the best. I was in need of a rope for a fast approaching ice climbing trip. [...] Thanks Rock Creek. Keep up the great work. Oh, by the way, the first day on the trip, we put my ropes to the test when my climbing partner took a 40 footer! :(
