The 10mm Dynamic Galaxy Rope is a low weight rope that is distinguished by its excellent handling and durable abrasion resistance. The Galaxy is part of the Mammut Balance Line series which is the proven classics of the Mammut ropes that are impressive due to their balanced profile of high strength, minimal weight, comfortable handling, and a long life expectancy.
The 10mm Galaxy has a couple options of rope types. The Duodess rope is a bi-color rope, which means it has two different styles of weave starting from the center of the line giving you an extreme visual of where the center of the rope is located - fast and easy. The Galaxy also comes treated with a Superdry finish, which is an extra heat-treatment process on the finished rope, helps to maintain its smooth handling characteristics over time. These ropes remain supple, soft in the hand, and maintains their original diameter even after repeated exposure to water, sun, dirt, and continuous use.
Ideal uses for the Galaxy Rope are sport climbing, traditional climbing, difficult alpine tours, and high tours.

I've owned a rope from just about every company and I keep coming back to this cord. I always get the 70m, dry, and use it year round for rock and ice. I climb roughly 100+ days a year and usually burn through a cord annually. I retire the old ropes to top rope only cords for the newbie's that I take out. The cords have never popped the sheath, cut, or become frayed; I simply retire them based on the usage and lead falls taken throughout the year. With that much usage the cord will become a bit "fat", but that's to be expected. I'm on my third rope and next year I will buy another. It's not the lightest or thinnest rope out there but it is a great rope that will leave you satisfied. Don't go with faint midline markers, or ropes with multiple makers at midline line then 10 or 15 feet from the ends, it creates too much room for error and more and more accidents are occurring with those styles. The bicolor, 70m is the only way to go and if you climb a lot, get stuck in the rain or drag it out on the ice, get a dry rope.Great rope, you cannot go wrong and if you watch the site you can get it on sale.
