Shopping for a canoe or kayak? Watch Rock/Creek paddling expert Sara Horne’s boating intro!
"Getting into paddling can be pretty confusing. There are a zillion different boat options, and it can be pretty tough to decide what kind of canoe or kayak is best for what you’d like to do. Do you need a sea kayak, a recreational kayak or a touring kayak? Do you want to run creeks with multiple whitewater rapids, or load up your boat with a weekend’s camping gear and paddle from island to island?"

Comments about Mad River Canoe Adventure 14 Canoe:
I used this canoe for both river and lake fishing and works great. It says it is 56 lbs but I think it is more like 70 lbs. but I am able to still put it on my truck by myself. The canoe is very stable and offers a good amount of storage. The comfortable seats make this canoe that much better.

Comments about Mad River Canoe Adventure 14 Canoe:
We bought our Adventure 2 years ago. My wife does not like the "tippiness" of a canoe, and I do not like the low water position of a kayak. This canak is the perfect compromise. Comfortable seats, good storage space, very stable, and easy to get back into when the bozos in the "gofasts" get their kicks out of swamping you with a roller. It is a bit cumbersome to get on the car top, due to the design, but it is not heavy. No problem for the wife to hold up her end. Definitely will not hold its own with a rocky rapids ride. Great recreation boat for our rivers and lakes here in Florida.

Comments about Mad River Canoe Adventure 14 Canoe:
I bought this boat this winter despite some of the bad reviews. I took it out fishing and it is great. It's comfortable with those highback seats. It has 2 pole holders that work great for trolling. I did not think the boat was tippy at all. I would recommend using a kayak paddle with the boat.
