Race Day Start:
Due to last year's start time confusion, we would like to explain the phenomena of the sun. Originally, we wanted to start the race at 7:00am EST. However, the sun does not rise until 7:45am. It is a late run if we start at 8:00am. We are asking all perticipants to be lined up at the start and ready to run no later than 7:15am. We will guage the start based on the available light. Please plan accordingly.
Time Cutoff:
The 100k race will have an 18 hour cut off.

Brief Course Description from Kris Whorton:
"The Lookout Mountain 100k begins above spectacular Lula Lake falls in a land trust that shares the same name. The course offers a variety of challenging climbs, highly runnable sections and moderate descents on predominantly single track trails, with some jeep and bike trails as well. Runners traverse beautifully diverse ecosystems in the scenic and historic Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the first national military park in the country and pass directly above Craven's House and the Battle Above the Clouds, one of the most decisive battle sites in the Civil War. Runners navigate two exposed bluff lines for approximately 6 miles with fantastic views (some in the park and some in the land trust). On one section of trail, it is possible to see 5 states on a clear day. Runners continue along Lookout Creek and later Rock Creek on trails that wind through rhododendron, mixed hardwood, and Hemlock forests. Great aid stations with hot soup, a dose of Southern hospitality and camp fires at night."
