My buddy got me using hiking poles a few years back. I always gave him a lil' hell for it, but once he talked me into it, I took back what I said and ate my pride. Poles just save your legs and back. My first set was a hand me down pair and I finally decided to get my own. So I got these. The side locks are a little bit different than what I'm used to, and was afraid that they'd catch or collapse but have not had any problems. They just work.
