This shoe is amazing but keep in mind because of the aggressive down turned shape of this shoe the sizing is a little off. I wear a 10 in normal street shoes but a 8.5 / 9 in climbing shoes (depending on company and model) I tried on these shoes before buying them online and I ended with a size 40.5, so if possible make sure you try them on before you buy. Other than that these shoes are great for heel hooks, jibs.

I tried these when they were first released because I had heard the hype and wanted to see what was up. At the time I was wearing Dragons and V10s and other aggressive 5.10s but was still using Katanas for my casual shoes. I loved the way these fit out of the box and was psyched to try them out. After at least 5 sessions in these I came to the conclusion that I would rather be wearing Dutch wooden shoes. I prefer a much more sensitive shoe and these offered very little sensitivity. I also hated the rubber used on the heel cups. Why they couldn't have wrapped them in standard climbing rubber I don't know but the super hard rubber on these heels was not to my taste at all. I really wanted to like these but I just couldn't get into them.

I recently bought a second pair of these from Rock Creek after I split through the toe on the first pair. (The first pair lasted me 9 months of climbing 3-4 days a week indoors and several outdoor trips.) These shoes are nothing short of fantastic, albeit pricey. The fit is so perfect they make a sucking noise when I take them off/on. They are not very comfortable to walk in as they are very aggressive, but my feet never hurt or feel cramped while climbing. These are a dream for bouldering and allow me to feel confident putting weight on the tiniest holds. There is rubber on top of the foot which makes for great toe hooks/bat hangs, and the heel is also wrapped for confident heel hooks. The shoes are real leather which keeps odor to a minimum. (Unlike my STINKvolves, which smelled so bad my friends would make me strap them to the roof rack when driving home from the crag!)

For size comparison, I wear a men's 10 in loafers/dress shoes and a 42.5 (~9.5)in these. They were very difficult to put on at first but after a few uses they slide on without issue.

Trust your feet. An old adage but simple endeavor with the La Sportiva Solution. I'm blown out of the water by it's precise fit (it wraps around your foot like a sock), superior edging and pulling power, and sticky rubber.

Great shoe. Felt a little snug at first but after a few climbs it's perfect. Grabs walls and the flexibility of the shoe is unparalleled. Does great on rock or in the gym.

Sizing will take trying on. I went 3 full sizes down and feel like they are AWESOME for hard overhanging bouldering and fat heel hooks. I have a wide forefoot, monkey toes, and a deep heel. These shoes (and LaSportiva in general) fit me awesome! They are true performance that are meant to bring the fury. They have helped my recent projecting significantly.
