"The heart of the La Sportiva Quantum is La Sportiva’s new “MorphoDynamic Technology,” a unique construction where the outsole of the shoe features a layer of soft EVA wrapped in high-traction rubber. This EVA layer is, as the name implies, dynamic, flexing and compressing to move responsively with the terrain beneath your feet..."

Comments about La Sportiva Quantum Trail Running Shoe (Men's):
I decided to try a pair of these out rather than sticking with my usual shoes, the Saucony Peregrine. Ive been disappointed with the upper durability of the Peregrines and the Quantums seemed much more substantial. The unique rubber and tread design on the Quantum makes them great on most surfaces. They shed snow and mud very well. They stick to wet rocks better than lugged shoes (like the Peregrine) will. In hard packed cold snow, lugs may do you better. In wet clay, nothing will help you :) The orientation of the "waves" in the tread mean great traction down hill and toeing off, but poor traction side to side and rounding corners. The somewhat rounded edges and higher sole make the shoe feel a little less stable, although I haven't rolled an ankle yet. The shoes is low volume and narrow compared to my other shoes (Peregrine on trails, New Balance Road Minimus and FiveFinger Bikila LS on roads). After about 25 miles I cant stand wearing these shoes any further. For shorter runs on steep terrain I'd recommend these. The outer rubber on the sole is deceptively thin. 75 miles on pavement will start putting holes in them.

Comments about La Sportiva Quantum Trail Running Shoe (Men's):
I have running technical trails for a long time, and no other shoes have provided me with the confidence of running without worrying that much about my footing than the LS Quantum. These shoes are truly amazing, particularly on running downhills! I would prefer them a little lighter, maybe LS is adding too much protection on the top? Also, I ordered these half size above my regular size and that just did the trick.
