I use the shoe for bouldering and sport as well as indoor and some top rope. The downturn is still intact after 4 months of hard climbing. The rubber is not meant for smearing but edges better than anything else. I find it most helpful on very small feet and overhangs. The shoe is much more down turned than the pictures suggest. I have compared them to a pair of muiras of similair age and they have the same amount of downturn just the muiras are slightly more asymmetric. The tongue is great and wicks away moisture very well and is almost like a slip-on works well for quick bouldering as long as you manage the laces well.
