This is the replacement cartrige for the Katadyn Hiker Microfilter. This microfilter element is made in the USA by Katadyn-PuR specifically for their Hiker Microfilter. The Anti-clog, pleated glass-fiber element has over 140 sq. in. of filtering surface area and the 0.3 micron screens particles, protozoa and bacteria.

I like the Pro Hiker and the filter element because of the ease to use, and with some of the water I have filtered, I am amazed I have not gotten sick from some of it. I filtered from one area that I later learned was a favorite [*] station for deer in the area. The [*] that leached into the stream was filtered perfectly and I never got sick from it.
