Mount Meru -“The Center of the Universe” Teamwork and Tenacity in the Himalaya
Presented by The North Face & Rock/Creek
Join Rock/Creek at 2 North Shore the evening of December 3, 2010 from 7pm-8pm as we host the legendary Alpinist, Conrad Anker. Grip your seat and wipe your sweaty palms as he illustrates his thrilling expedition to Mount Meru in the Indian Himalayas.
Titled “The Center of the Universe,” witness Conrad and his partner’s ultimate test as storm and cold battered them throughout their eighteen-day ascent (…may we repeat…18 day ascent!) In the end, teamwork and trust was the key to their survival.
Conrad paints a picture of his gripping tale with photographs and video that captures the adventure of his lifetime; but we will leave the snow blowers at home.
In addition, Conrad Anker has found fame for trail blazing film and research work on Everest, where he investigated the mystery of the lost 1924 expeditioners, Mallory and Irvine, and climbed the mountain a couple of times, to boot.
