It is obvious to me that this shoe is the resurrection and improvement of 5.10's famous V10s as its design closely mimics them. Climbers have been begging 5.10 to bring back the V10's since they stopped making them and this is what they have brought us. The addition of the velcro strap addresses the V10's only shortcoming; heel hooking making this shoe the best shoe since the V10's and the dragons IMO. Also they cut down on the rubber in the heel section so the shoe fits to the shape of your heel, not vise versa.
This shoe climbs great on overhanging rock and feels extremely comfortable on the foot. It is flexible and is just as good a heel hooker as the dragons, if not better. It does not toe in quite as well as the dragons or the V10's because of this new lump they put on the shoe but more on that later. It also takes about 1/3 the time to put on this shoe as it does the Dragons.
The shoe does have a few shortcomings. 5.10 is notorious for their pulltabs breaking. Their solution: thinner pulltabs? That makes no sense. I feel they should have beefed them up to be thick like La Sportiva shoes. Finally 5.10 started putting in these lumps right at the edge of the toe. Why they did this I do not know. I feel that the toe should come to a sharp point like they did on the dragons and the V10. Consequentially I feel it does not toe in as well as other models.
All in all this is a great shoe overall. Nice blue color, comfortable, flexible, good heel hooker, and quick to put on. I just hope they decide to change the toe to the old design, and beef up the pull tabs. Other than that, great job 5.10. Thumbs up. And thank you RC.

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
I've had these shoes for a couple weeks now and could not be more happy. I'm a size 10 street shoe and got these in a 10.5 and have been super happy with the fit. I could have probably gone up to an 11 for a bit more comfort but I feel I sized them perfect. Toes are tight but not painful and they do break in a tiny bit.. I can boulder for an hour or more without too much discomfort. I still have my mocasyms for smearing and vertical routes/problems. But anything overhanging and these shoes kill it. They focus power to the big toe like they promise and they are very sensitive. The only down fall is the 3.5mm rubber for durabilty but they make up for it in feel on dime edges. And you can always resole. People that have been climbing for years will love them and beginners in a comfortable size will feel the rock like no other.

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
Excellent aggressive climbing shoe, stellar on the steep and overhanging. Downturned toe results in very powerful edging. Rubber extends across the top of the forefoot for excellent toe hooking. Heel cup never slips and gives much confidence in heel hooking. Overall if you are looking for a high level, aggressive shoe this is a great choice. It really does fit to your shoe size, there is not much stretch at all- probably due to it being synthetic material and also due to the way the rubber extends out over the top of the shoe. I initially tried a half size smaller...exceedingly difficult to put on and also very painful. I eventually ordered one in my street shoe size...just right.

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
This is my new favorite climbing shoe. It is a very powerful high performance climbing shoe that quite simply excels on the steep and overhanging stuff. It has quite a downturned toe and it super powerful when it comes to edging especially on roofs. Additionally, the heel is excellent and is very confidance inspiring. The toe rubber extends across the top of the forefoot area which enhances its ability to toe hook, a plus for difficult sport and bouldering problems.
So what are the downsides I have experienced. Probably the only one is that with the degree of downturned toe, this shoe is just not good for the less than vertical wall where smearing is at a premium. That being said, the shoe isnt designed for that type of climbing in mind anyhow.
Also, just as the site warns..this shoe doens't stretch. My first pair was a 1/2 size smaller than street and while I eventually was able to climb in them, it was more than the normal pain associated with tight high performance climbing shoes. I finally gave up on them and just ordered a pair in my street shoe size. Part of the reason for this is they synthetic material but also that rubber that extends over the top of the toe area...just wont allow for much stretch.
So buy this shoe if you are interested in a powerful bouldering/sport climbing shoe that excels on the steep and overhung.

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
These are great shoes, as long as you size them right to your feet, i used to have dragons, and these are just as good so far, actually even better, heel and edge just as good, but toe hook much better than the other 5 ten shoes!

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
I wear a size 10-10.5 street shoe and went with five ten's advice to order this shoe same as your street shoe size because "It fits smaller than other five ten shoes"! These shoes were painful and narrow in size 10s so I upgraded to the dragons, which are a similar fit, in 10.5 and fits perfectly. Get the correct size and you'll make spider-man look like a [*] .

Comments about Five Ten Team 5.10 Climbing Shoe:
Great shoe, the sensitivity in the toe is really nice. Fit is good but sizing is bizarre. I wear an 8 anasazi velcro and now wear a 9.5 team shoe and like my shoes tight. My only complaint is the heel. It is a bit sloppy and does not snug to my heel well. I have to load up heel hooks and let the shoe move a bit before I really pull on it.
