Five Ten's Guide Tennie is back by popular demand. This shoe can hike 10 miles into a climb, then ascend a 5.13 route (or better yet, a thousand feet of fourth-classing). Five Ten has studied previous versions of their classic “Guide shoes,” and have created a new GT that’s better fitting, better performing and better looking than ever. Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie (Men's):
This is a great shoe, I use it to go to work everyday, and even though it looks like a delicate shoe, it has not worn out at all.
Very comfortable shoe although tending to fit relatively small (somewhere between your walking shoe and your climbing shoe). Though my walking shoe is size 8, I have to wear these on that same size with a thin sock, otherwise they won't fit comfortably. Great grip on the rock on the approach.
They only drawback I'd see is that they don't seem weatherproof at all, although I can't truly report on that, cause I haven't had the chance to test them in damp conditions yet.
True to 5.10's quality, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie (Men's):
I use this shoe when I go bouldering and warm up with it. I sized down 1/2 size to get it to fit more like a climbing shoe. This shoe will stick to rocks or anything you walk on as it has the stickest rubber.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie (Men's):
For the record, this shoe is good for people with wide feet! I was worried because I have a wide foot, (almost 3 E), but it feels good.
Only weird thing is, the shoe does fit snug on the top of the foot, which, I'm thinking will loosen up over time.
True to other reviews, these shoes grip really well on rock, gravel, but are a little slippery on say, a smooth surface. I'm interested to see how they perform on Utah slickrock.
Overall, a great shoe!

The best approach shoe I have owned. Its a classic. The shoe has been around for a long time and will probably stay around for a long time to come. Can't go wrong with this shoe.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie (Men's):
This shoe is a great approach shoe. The traction on rock is great and its a very comfortable shoe for all day wear. It is a durable shoe that can take the abuse you throw at it from continuous days of wear. One thing to know about it is it has a marking sole so don't wear them on your wood floors!

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie (Men's):
Used this shoe on a summit day of Vestal Peak- Wham Ridge. I decided to carry these in my summit bag as a backup to my boots. As we approached the summit rain made the going pretty slippery and I switched to the Guide Tennie. I had a much better grip on the wet rock, and with the wool socks I had on, my feet stayed comfortable in the very wet conditions. Bought this shoe after both my guides wore them in the Sawtooths.
