The Five Ten Galileo rock shoe is a lightweight climbing shoe developed by Five Ten's European R&D Team, and then perfected in their Redlands testing facility. The Galileo is designed as a high-performance VELCRO® brand shoe for high-level climbing. This is a stiff shoe and very supportive, utilizing Five Ten's new Stealth Onyx rubber.

You'll want to size this shoe as you would a street shoe; you will not benefit from an undersized shoe.

Comments about Five Ten Galileo Climbing Shoe:

First of all, there is no magical shoe that works well for everyone and every style of climbing.

If you are looking for a great all-around shoe, and you have a relatively wide foot, this is a fantastic shoe.

Size it down as small as you can get into. The shoe will stretch.

The 5.10 Stealth rubber is the best I've used.

Love these shoes, however may not be the best shoes in intense heat. Also definitely need to bring a separate pair of shoes to belay in if you do not do so already.

Comments about Five Ten Galileo Climbing Shoe:

Theses shoes are great so far I do feel they are a bit narrow but just on one foot so this gives me blisters on my pinky toe. Hopping they will be better once the rand securing the heel stretches a bit but even if it doesn't I would still buy another pair in the same size I would just continue wearing my montrails at the gym and my galileos every where else because they are perfect when climbing but stand on them they hurt my feet which is strange kinda. Bring some easy slip on shoes when you hit your routes because when you are done you w=will want to take them off keeps them cleaner and more comfy for your feet.

For extended wear these are great shoes!! They edge very well on sandstone and are great for bouldering. I can keep these on All day and don't have one complaint about these shoe! I had to size half size smaller from my size 10.5 street shoe. Very nice!!!

This is my favorite go to shoe for the hard stuff. I love the feel of it and the edging is great. Make sure the sizing is right, it can hurt if you go too small. This shoe will not stretch.

Comments about Five Ten Galileo Climbing Shoe:

I use these Five 10 Galileo's mainly for those V nasty heel hooks that other shoes cannot pull off. These shoes are great for edging but tend to slip or tap dance around if they are not kept warm so stick em in your pits when hanging around your next project. Unfortunately, these shoes do take awhile to break in so I lent them to my boyfriend to cruise around in at the Stone Fort leg of the Triple Crown and at Rock Town so now I can wear them for longer than 15 minutes. I plan on getting him his own pair for x-mas. Thanks Rock Creek!

Comments about Five Ten Galileo Climbing Shoe:

After beating the stuff out of my old pair of 5.10 Spires I went looking for a new rock shoe. I stu, bled upon the Galileos after looking at what 5.10 had to offer. I was able to try on a pair of Anasazi shoes, and they fit a little loose for me at size 12 and too tight at size 11. I thought these shoes would fit similarly but I was wrong. These shoes run about a half size smaller. I tried a pair of 11.5 galileos and they made my toes scream after a while. I have a size 12 pair on the way and I feel like they should work well.

The rubber on the shoe is second to none. Gym holds stick like glue. I have yet to try them outside, but I don't think they would have a problem. The stiff sole would definitely help with the cracks.

Overall they seem to be a good buy and most versitile shoe out there.
