Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I usually wear a 12-12.5 in street shoes but even the 13s in these shoes were a bit too snug. I have always liked 5.10's minimalist approach shoes like the old "retro tennies" and I was psyched on these. I only wish I could get another half size bigger.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
These are a great shoe for the money. The fit is very much a climbing shoe fit, so if you are looking for a casual trainer these are not the shoes for you. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a light weight approach shoe that climbs really well (I've felt comfortable on 5.10's in these shoes).

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
Basically, if I'm not working, I'm wearing these shoes. I usually wear around 10 1/2 in street/casual shoes and bought a pair of 11's to play it safe. Those were too small for every day uses, so I exchanged them for 11 1/2, which was perfect for my intended use.
Because of the way the rubber is wrapped around the end, if you go small and you're experience is anything like mine, you're toe will hit the end of the shoe and it'll be uncomfortable. The half size made alll the difference in the world.
This'll be my 4th year climbing and I don't expect to ever use these to replace my Gallileos (or regular climbing shoe for that matter) when I'm on the rock, but for casual mountain biking or long approaches, it doesn't get better than these.
To sum it up: I wear a 10 1/2 in Gallileos for climbing. A 10 1/2 in these will feel maybe slightly loser than that climbing shoe.
11's in my case were still too uncomfortable for approaches, biking, walking etc, but the full size larger (11 1/2) were perfect!
I will be buying another pair of these ASAP!

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I absolutely love these shoes, I wear them almost everyday to class. Their super comfortable, light, and easy to slip on and off, BUT they do have some cons. This is climbing shoe rubber on the bottom so keep that in mind, the least bit of sand that gets on the bottom they loose a lot of traction. Also i wore these things down to a sport climb that was just off a river, it had been raining the day before and was snowing at the time, needless to say these things aren't water proof. I live about 25 minutes away from Horse Pens and these are perfect for a day out there, or going up to sand rock. I would recommend these to anyone but when the weather calls for it, wear boots. Other then that, they're perfect.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I bought these to replace my five ten ba51cs. These shoes are nice and durable and the rubber on these suckers are stickier then my climbing shoes. They fit well and have decent padding. Only con if it applys is you should not use a pair of these walking on snow ice or wet polished tile.... Trust me. Other than that theyre great fit well and look pretty good to boot...

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
This is a great shoe for daily usage. It can get very annoying when approach paths are overly sandy or dry because all the particles stick to your shoe.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I've found these shoes to be perfect for two situations:
1. Easier climbs... they have great grip and climb well in moderate terrain.
2. Long climbs with long walk off descents... they are so light weight that I can clip them on the back of my harness and I hardly know that they are there. Upon reach the top, I switch shoes and haul the chili down.
They are comfortable and I love them so much that I ordered two extra pair, so that when they are discontinued (as all shoes seem to be sooner or later), I'll since be in business.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I love the light weight of this shoe! They feel a bit tight, but, they need to be snug for the best performance. I would recommend extra padding for the sole. Other than that, great, light, and tough little shoes.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
I was advised to buy a half or full size larger than what I usually wear. I wear an 11 so I ordered a 11.5 for my Daescents, which was a mistake. This shoe needs to be snug in order to avoid feeling like it's going to slip off. I would recommend buying your true size. Also, put some long-distance running insoles in them if you're going to be running or jumping. Awesome durability at the nose of the shoe, great grip, nice fit, lightweight, and they look cool too.

Comments about Five Ten D'Aescent Shoe (Men's):
Shoes work perfectly. I used them for an entire week at coopers rock, WV right when I got them and they performed perfectly. Since then, I have used them a couple of times for light hikes and easy bouldering problems. They do exactly what they are supposed to do.
