Comments about Five Ten Coyote VCS Climbing Shoe + Free Chalk!:
These shoes are ultra perf for beginers or for a seasoned vet. I do all sorts of climbing in these shoes. These are my go to shoes because of comfort. I can wear these all day long and not have any pain or discomfort that alone make me climb just as hard if not harder in these than any aggressive shoes i own. These shoes are not aggressive but for a causal climber these shoes are most comfortable size 1 to have size down. they will stretch.

Comments about Five Ten Coyote VCS Climbing Shoe + Free Chalk!:
I have worn out two sets of Five Ten Asym lace ups in the last 3 to four years. The size of the Asyms were 10.5 so I opted for the 10.5 in the Coyote as well. My first impression was that the Coyotes were going to be too small as there were some really bad hot spots around my big toe, however after several pitches the shoes have stretched just enough to eliminate the hot spots. I do however have a little more play in the heel section with the Coyote than with the Asyms perhaps do to the velcro closure design. All in all great edging shoe...and fairly secure heel hooks.

Comments about Five Ten Coyote VCS Climbing Shoe + Free Chalk!:
I tried on 3-4 different shoes before I bought these (ranging from used size 8.5 to new size 10). It's kind of an odd fit. I wear a 10.5 street shoe. This in a size 10 feels a little loose with the width, but it's way too short from front to back. People talk about leather shoes stretching, but it's the rand and rubber around the upper that needs to do the stretching (in my opinion). I think I could do with a 9.5 width and 11 length.
Hehehe...
Interestingly enough, the design of the shoe is pushing my foot, uncomfortably, into the toe of the shoe, but there is empty space in the heel (I'd say an easy 1/4"). If I push the heel of the shoe to the heel of my foot, then my toes feel much better. I think it might stem from the diagonal section of rubber from the rand to the achilles.
I can't really say if it's a good shoe or not, as I've never had a pair that I felt was comfortable. All the rentals I've had hurt my big toes, too.
I can't say that I would order a 10.5 or 11, though, as I think the width would be way too big. Maybe I just have disproportionately long/narrow feet.
