The Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe is a new and improved version of Five Ten's Moccasym. Designed primarily for the steep roofs of bouldering and the tenuous foot work in sport climbing, the 5X has five times the advantages of a regular slipper. Built with a fish hook midsole, power hook and closure straps, Asym elastic and zipper closure, and Asym slingshot rand for better fit. Finished off with Five Ten's amazing Stealth C4 rubber, the 5X is a performer for any project that requires power and strength.
Great for all sorts of hard rock climbing

Comments about Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe:
I love these shoes. I got them as a shoe I would use for more vertical/slabby problems and routes, and they are fantastic! They stayed strong for a year and served me well. What surprised me most was that they actually did pretty well on steeper stuff as well. I like to think of them as a slightly more down-turned moc. Great shoe from five ten, and I highly suggest them

Comments about Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe:
I started out with the Moccasyms and loved them until they needed to be resoled. That's when I started looking around online. The 5X appeal to me because they're similar to the Moccasyms, but solve a couple of the issues I had with them. My Moccs got stretched out after a long time of getting in and out of them and didn't stay still on my feet very well. I like the velcro strap and the zipper. It prevents me from having to cram my feet in and stretch out the leather.

Comments about Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe:
I use this mid-grade shoe for more daily use when I don't need the tight toe-work of my Five-Ten Jet-7's. Where the Jet-7 excels on the wall and is painful walking on the ground, the 5x still gives very respectable toe capabilities in a shoe you can wear for hours on and off the wall. The Velcro strap creates a "stirrup" effect within the shoe that gives great arch support and holds the shoe snugly to the foot, while allowing the front of the shoe to be millimeters larger and not crush the toes together.
The one failing of the 5x is that the bright green color transfers to the skin on your feet when you sweat within the shoe. It does wash off easily, but still, somewhat annoying.

Comments about Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe:
The 5X are fantastic.....I'm a die-hard Anasazi Velcro wearer, but these are my new favorite. Very comfy with excellent fit for me (medium forefoot and narrow heel). I'm a size 9 in a street shoe and fit perfectly into 7.5 in the 5X for reference. Highly recommend giving these a try!!

Comments about Five Ten 5X Climbing Shoe:
These are great shoes for all around use. I bought these in 8 1/2 and I wear a 10 street shoe. If I bought them a half size larger they would be great for multipitch stuff, but I bought these mostly for single pitch climbs and bouldering. Stealth rubber is great. Sticks to pretty much anything you throw at it. I have two minor problems with them. Two of the pull loops started to come off on the first day of trying to put them on so I had to do some sewing to reinforce it and recently a bit of the rubber on the top of the toe is coming off probably due to stretching. Nothing a little glue can't fix. Overall great shoes. I'm planning to get these resoled.
