The Stumptown 12 Trail Shoe by Environmentally Neutral Design aka END, is the heavier shoe of their line-up and its only 12 ounces! Made to be a trail hiker as well as an option for experienced trail runners out there. A great shoe for a trained running foot that provides a stable platform and stone bruise protection, while still remaining to be one of the lightest shoes out on the trails, the stores and possibly the US!

The Stumptown 12 has minimalist overlays to add stability and durability to its very light package. The midsole is designed to give you support, lateral containment and excellent heel capture to provide a more efficient stride and a lower center of gravity. If you are a runner or hiker who needs precision and comfort, you will get it in this midsole.

Constructed with a protection plate for torsional stability and stone-bruise protection. The protection plate is cut from sheet stock ESS and then co-molded with the mid-sole which allows for natural forefoot flex and eliminates the need for glue.

The outsole is made with a combination of recycled and virgin carbon rubber that gives you traction on any sort of surface.

"The new Stumptown is an environmentally friendly shoe with a nimble ride and minimal protection. The outsole and midsole are constructed from recycled content (25 and 10 percent, respectively), and the laces are completely recycled plastic. The shoe's collar and tongue lining use bamboo to offset 25 percent of the plastic content and to help control odor. The result is a lightweight trainer with a soft heel and an exceptionally firm forefoot, according to our lab tests. Since this is one of the most flexible shoes in this guide, we recommend it for fast-paced training or racing across level terrain."
