I've used the slapstrap pros for years until I lost them on a trip abroad. When I went to replace them, I considered the plain slapstraps. I read a bit on both, as I only knew about the pros. In the end, I decided to stick with what's worked for me for years now. I like the versatility of the extra length; though I've never needed it, it's there if I ever do. I often will just wrap the straps twice around the tree to take up the slack. I'd also read complaints about the straps stretching, but I always just pull the hammock as tight as possible to compensate for this, and it's not been an issue. I tried tying knots with ropes to hang my ENO hammock, but the straps are so easy and lightweight, it just made more sense to me to stick with them. All in all, a perfect, easy, quick way to set up my faithful ENO hammock. :)

I originally made my own webbing straps to save money, but after using a friends slap strap pros (lighter and longer than the regular slap straps... for only $5 more!), I have to admit the weight and convenience of these is very sttractive to me! Very easy to use, but not enough flexibility as far as loops go... I would definitely prefer a few more loops to be added in. I love them though!

I bought these hoping that they would save time and offer more options in spots with fewer trees. The concept is good but the material is flawed. They streched so much that even with two guys getting the hammock to the tightest loop at 6 ft off the ground, I climbed in to sleep starting off 2 feet above the ground and woke up with my rear-end dragging in the leaves. IF you buy them you should pre-strech as much as possible before headed out to the trail.

I use the Slap Straps with my ENO hammock setup for camping. Works great and allows me to setup very quickly anywhere I can find two posts/trees/vehicles.

The SlapStrap Pro's are great! If you have an ENO single/double nest hammock (or ANY hammock), then you really should pick these up. The Pro version is longer than the regular Slap Straps AND the webbing is thinner, but still very strong. They come with a parachute pouch (just like the hammock) that can also be stuffed into the DoubleNest hammock itself, so there is no reason not to keep them together.
Super easy to set up, just thread one end through the loop and pick the desired length, clip in and you're done!
