This hammock is GREAT! I tried a couple other less expensive versions, but they had cords that got tangled and held half the weight. It's so nice to have the Slap Strap's and be able to pull the hammock out of it's on stuff sack, clip in and relax! You can't go wrong with it; On the trail, at the beach, in your back yard, or even from roof rack to roof rack while car camping. If you have some Slap Straps & this hammock, you have it made!

I couldn't imagine using this hammock in any real hiking/camping scenario - yes, it's light and packs small, but in my opinion it's too flimsy, flammable and mosquito-friendly for any serious outdoor use.

I wanted a hammock for my tiny urban backyard that was easy to set up and take down, with no injury to my trees. The ENO DoubleNest was recommended, and I settled on the olive/khacki/silver hammock and straps. (I was surprised that they offered a blue hammock, since blue is a notorious mosquito magnet.)

Speaking of mosquitoes, the fabric is so thin that mosquitoes can definitely bite through both it and a t-shirt, which I learned the hard way. I'd also definitely recommend removing all rings, belt buckles, metal etc. before trying to set it up or hanging out in it, since it seems to rip easily.

I was immediately disappointed by the hammock's threadbare edges, which were already fraying when I opened it for the first time. Every time I take it out to the backyard, I had to first snip off all the loose threads protruding from the seams. I had to do this because -

It's VERY FLAMMABLE. Obviously I wouldn't dream of, say, hanging a hammock next to a campfire, but if I hang it by a tiny citronella candle, I wouldn't expect a light breeze to somehow channel the miniscule flame's heat and melt/burn a sizable hole in the fabric - that I fortunately caught before it became a meltdown fire against my skin.

And here's where I discovered my least favorite part about the hammock: it does not come with a patch kit, which must be purchased separately for $2.95 (plus shipping). The "patch" is a tiny strip (4"x2.5") of sticky plastic that was stingily yet sloppily cut from a larger square or roll - barely enough for one patch job and not worth the money.

I still plan to use the hammock, but for its advertised convenience it's proven to be more of a problem than it's worth.

Comments about Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock:

I got my fiance this hammock for his birthday this year. I was skeptical he'd find much use for it being in college and living in a small town on the plains but I knew it would really knock his socks off so I got it anyways! I was right that it would really suprise him and that he would love it but boy was I wrong about him not being able to find use for it. We've already gone out half a dozen times since gifting it to him a week and a half ago. We've found places in parks in town, at a national recreational area nearby, and at my family's lake cabin. We use this hammock recreationally when we would like to escape the craziness of life in college. We both love how lightweight it is and especially how easy it is to setup and use! Neither of us have any experience with hammocks prior to my purchase but we figured it out right away even though we forgot to bring the instructions. The only concern I have about it is its durability. I have already noticed one small area that looks worn a bit. I hope that it won't tear but I've also looked into the repair kit.

Comments about Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock:

I love this hammock!!! I first used an ENU hammock when visiting a friends vacation home and immediately fell in love. I recently moved from New England to Sedona, AZ - an extremely different climate/environment - and jumped on the opportunity to invest in my own - springing for the DoubleNest. Both my boyfriend and I couldn't be happier we did! After watching a quick youtube video about how to set it up (we used the Atlas Hammock Suspension System) it took less than 10 minutes to be swinging peacefully looking at beautiful Cathedral Rock.

My only con would be that it is not the most attractive hammock (compared to other, more traditional style hammocks). It sort of looks like a weird bag hanging in between two trees when you are not actually in it. As long as you're fine with that (and we are!) I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock:

The ENO DoubleNest gave the best sleep while camping I have ever had. I am about 6'1 and 170 lbs and it fit me great with plenty of room for another person, which is obviously what it is meant to do. That being said it gives more room than expected. Using it by myself, I had plenty of material to completely enclose myself within the hammock to provide extra protection from bugs, rain, etc. All in all it is a fantastic product, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Most folks do. There are people who just use webbing, but the simplest and easiest way to hang these is with ENO's own Atlas suspension system -- http://www.rockcreek.com/eagle-nest-outfitters/atlas-hammock-suspension-system/33773.rc -- which we wholeheartedly recommend. Sets up in literally under a minute, you don't need to find perfectly spaced trees, it won't stretch out and it's infinitely adjustable. Look for a video in the coming days of how this works.
