I purchased this bag for school primarily, but I find I'm using for all my needs due to its comfortable fit, smart design and great features.
Pros: The straps and back support on the Giga office make it very comfortable when loaded down with stuff. The zippers feel very sturdy and all the stitching is exemplary. The built in organizers are well thought out and very accessible. I like the minimalist look as well.
Cons: The "laptop sleeve" is a bit of a misnomer. I was expecting a padded separate compartment, but its actually a bit of foam around the edges, not actually separating it from the rest of the contents. Not a big deal, but store it in there with some books and watch the top of your laptop get scuffed. Also, the two main compartments size are split approximately 50/50, I would like to see the two main compartments split 70/30 to accomodate thicker binders and textbooks in the main slot.
Bottom line: this is a fantastic commuter bag for the busy individual. I can fit my medical books, laptop, lunch and a few extras no problem, and the folks at Deuter definitely understand comfort and ergonomics. I would reccomend this pack to anyone looking for a comfy, feature-laden, utilitarian backpack.

I take this backpack to university every day it has a special protected compartment for my laptop and plenty of room for books and other stuff. On my free time I use it for hiking and it does a great job in that too.
