Comments about Deuter Packs Cruise 30 Backpack:

Used for late fall/early winter hiking/snowshoeing. Once I got used to the vertical pads the pack was comfortable with 15 lbs. in it. It is just large enough to take full on winter gear including emergency kit, bivi, insulated pants and down jacket along with layering gear and food. The two zippered top sections makes it easy to organize small stuff. One suggestion. Put the key ring in the underneath pocket where I put wallets and stuff I may not want as ready access to. I have loaded skis on this pack and they are secure. The clamshell access out the back works great. You have to unsnap the two sinch straps on the shoulder straps but it is far superior to struggling to open the top loading section with skis on. Shovelscetion is just large enough. Haven't tried putting skins in the outside back pocket. Doubt it is large enough for real wide skins.
