This is my second kayak. I have a 14.5 touring kayak but like a lot of people, I also needed a multipurpose kayak for downstream runs with occasional rapids that would still track well enough for use on flat water. This boat is just that. The drop skeg is a great feature that helps this boat track and make paddling on flat water more efficient. Pull the skeg up and you get the maneuverability you would expect from a boat of this length. It might feel a bit tippy to less experienced paddlers but the secondary stability quickly inspires confidence. The seat and foot pegs have considerable adjustment and the quality you would expect from a boat in this price range but for some reason, I haven't found the sweet spot on the back rest adjustment yet. It also seems to weigh a few pounds more than other boats of this length. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. I could have saved money and bought a less expensive boat but I don't think I would have been near as happy with the performance.
