My kids have had other sandals in the past, but they tended to get a little (or even a lot) stinky. These don't seem to have that problem. One of my kids has narrow feet. These fit her well, since they're fully adjustable. My daughters wear them with skirts, and they look cute.

Chaco was designed by climbers who know the western mountains. They hug the foot firmly and will never fall off, even if you step in mud to your knee. They keep the rocks and sand out because of the fit, they have great traction, the sole will stick to any rock surface, and they even give you traction on water covered rocks. They seem to have been designed for hiking in canyon rivers, even the white water passes won't sweep you off. They are super durable and will not wear out, you'll want a more current style before you need a new pair because of wear and tear.

I was so excited to find Chacos for my son (3 1/2 yrs old), because i love my own pair! They have all the great features that adult chacos have - durable / adjustable straps / quick dry / etc. One little thing to note: they run ever-so-slightly on the big size, but really pretty true to size. Also, the cinch strap ends up a little long once i have it tightened, but it has not caused a problem (tripping, etc.) at all. I was willing to pay the price, because i anticipate they will hold up for my second son (1 yr), too. I would love to get these each summer.... For a sandal, this shoe has awesome traction. It's great for summer, whether around town, or in the mountains. The straps makes sure it never falls off. I would suggest washing them when you first get them to loosen up the straps because they come too stiff to wear. After a wash though, these shoes are great.
