The concept of hybrid comes out in the Chaco Hipthong Sandals. They combine fixed straps in the front of the foot with pull-through adjustability over the instep, creating a custom fit thong. A very secure and nimble slip-on sandal, making the Hipthong a great "other" shoe for traveling.
Chaco's BioCentric footbed ensures a supported, comfortable stride in any activity and as a result, has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
Chaco uses the EcoTread outsole on all its sandals. The EcoTread is a durable outsole made of 25% recycled rubber and 75% sticky rubber for excellent traction.

Comments about Chaco Sandals Hipthong Sandals (Men's):
These are my 4th pair of Chacos. The other 3 are still in good shape and I still wear them often, but I needed a pair that I could slip on and off. I have 2 pairs of the toe strap Zs and one without the toe strap. All-in-all a combined total of 16 years of traveling on my 3 other pairs of Chacos. This pair is just what I needed as getting in and out of the Zs is a bit of a pain if you are constantly getting in and out of them. I wear them all day now. Really comfortable. If the straps rub you wrong then wash the straps with a little dishwashing soap and rinse real good and viola no more chaffing.

Comments about Chaco Sandals Hipthong Sandals (Men's):
I have Plantar fasciitis (inflamed tendon on the arch of my foot). I needed to get some sandals with some arch support. I looked at the Z2 and tried them on at REI but I didn't love the toe strap and they felt too narrow. I wear a 10.5 but the size 11 Hipthong barely fits me - I had to loosen the straps about as far as they will go.
I'm content with my purchase. The sandals are comfortable and stylish. 4 stars because they don't absolutely WOW me with comfort like for instance a pair of Italian shoes I have that are made of a really soft leather.
