Not the same as an 11

I have been wearing Brooks Adrenaline for about four years now and I love them -- I am a Brooks junky. BUT...these are not the same as the 11, or the 10, or the 9, or even the 8. I'm not sure what changed in the 12s, but these just aren't as comfortable. I'm still breaking them in, but they seem to run a little smaller lengthwise than previous models (but maybe a little wider). I ran ten miles on them two days ago and by the end, my right ankle and my right knee hurt (IT band, probably). Stayed off my feet yesterday and ran seven this morning in my old adrenaline 11s and feel totally fine -- no pain. Can't figure out if I need to return to get a half size up, or if I just need to suck it up until the shoes are broken in, but this hasn't ever happened before. Still, Adrenalines are great shoes and I'd recommend them. Just know what you're getting yourself into with the 12s.
