My experience so far with the sling has been fine. It does its job. I bought two 12 foot slings. This works nice because you can set up a redundant sling for safety, and also have as much or as little rope as you need to make it work (if 12 ft is too much, just wrap the sling around a couple times). Personally, to increase durability I would recommend using at least a towel or something between the sling and anchor point (tree maybe). Take care of the sling and it will take care of you.
