From Denali to Ouray, the Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro with ABS is the most versatile crampon they make. Its horizontal frontpoints provide stability in snow, penetrate alpine ice and hold rock edges securely. The secondary points create a stable platform with shear resistance for control in mushy conditions, and serrated points grab and hold when you're rocking over your feet. The Pro version is for use with boots that have toe welts.

Black Diamond's best all-around crampon, the Sabretooth features a lightweight stainless steel design. Distinctive stainless steel construction is lightweight, durable, resists snow balling and won't rust. Versatile horizontal frontpoints and more technical secondary points. Low-profile micro-adjust heel bail with two positions. Includes dual-density AB.

Excellent Product

By Chet

from Whitetail Resort, PA

Comments about Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon:

I bought a pair of Pros for climbing and skiing 14ers in Colorado. Plans changed, and I had to buy a pair of Clips for Mountaineering in the Alps. Both are excellent products, although it would have been great to only buy one pair, I'm confident they will both be used for many years to come. Thanks BD!

Amazing All-purpose crampon

By Dean

from Anchorage, AK, USA

Comments about Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon:

Low angle ice, mod. ice, steep ice, mixed, glacier, mountaineering, sabretooth crampons excel at everything. My first crampons and still me number one choice for mountaineering and soft ice. Truly the only crampons i'll ever need, but I wanted stingers too. Ha! Handed them to my girlfriend, a pretty new ice climber, she followed WI3/4 and felt confident enough to solo a WI2 step. These are excellent, highly durable and versatile crampons.

Easy to use, and tough

By Shawnee

from Mount Hood, OR 97041, USA

Comments about Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon:

In my opinion, Crampons should pass two major tests: Toughness and ease of use. These pass both and perform well. Not much else to it.

They work...

By Daniel

from Astoria, OR

Comments about Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon:

My first pair of crampons and mounted to some Scarpa Mont Blanc GTX for Hyalite Canyon ice climbing. I love the crampons and will be buying another pair of BD crampons for my wife. I might get the Cyborg with the replaceable front points in the event that we really get into ice climbing. These worked very, very well on icy approaches and climbing multi-pitch WI3&4, as well as a mixed rock/ice route. I was sort of out of control a bit on the mixed route and kept fearing that I would break a point off from stabbing and floundering at the rock...but they held up. I'm very impressed.

A great all-rounder

By Luke

from Kathmandu 44600, Nepal

Comments about Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon:

If you are looking for a great all-round crampon, then this one is it. The Sabretooth does it all; steep alpine faces, waterfall ice, 8000 meters, and days at the ice park. A bit aggressive and heavier for mountaineering, but if you aren't a fan of being limited by your equipment no matter where you go, go with the Sabretooth.
