Stocked up on these "cosmetic defect" biners because they are a great bargain. The defect was nothing more than a paintless speck on the inside of the bottome curve. This area will soon be worn colorless anyway. Overall, they work great, are strong and dependable. If you want to travel super light these are not your ticket but I climb alot of multi-pitch trad and have no problem using a big pile of them with my rack and slings.
